Macular Degeneration
Posted by Peg Doyle on October 23, 2000
Does anyone have successful techniques for arresting or reversing the effects of AMD? I'd be interested in referrals ro both conventional and complementary therapists in the Boston area.
Thank you

Dear Peg,
Dr. Edward Kondrot, MD in Pittsburgh, PA has written two books on macular degeneration treatments. Miracle Eye Cure and Healing the Eye the Natural Way. You also may want to look into Kezone/Chelation therapy. These therapies have had good success. As far as I know, the allopathic profession doesn't have anyway of slowing down, stopping, or reversing macular degeneration. You can reach Dr. Kondrot' office at 1-877-341-2703. Good Luck, Teresa M

Some studies are showing results with the Amino Acid, Taurine.
Would use an antioxident as well with Tumeric, Bilberry, Pine Bark, and Green Tea extract. - Dharma

I would add ginko the above, along with increased Vit "A" and a real good multivitamin.
There are oral chelators that can help too. I use them in my practice.
