I am trying to follow the principles of Ayurveda.
I discovered I am a Pita and I would like to ask a question about
the correct diet. Pita persons are supposed to benefit from sweets,
but they should avoid honey and molesses. Then what kind of sweets
should they eat? Normal sweets with processed sugar? Aren't these
harmfull?
Another thing I would like to ask. Why somebody
(eg Pita)M should try to eat and behave in ways that ease the
Pita properties? Isn't this against his nature? - - - Bob

1stly,pitta is the
preferred English spelling to denote the double "t"
sound.
2ndly, sweets are best if fruit based, preferably small amounts
of raw fruit(but avoid or minimize these: papaya, pineapple, mango, jackfruit, durian
as they are the rare fruits that actually are heat producing).also
grain sugars and natural sago palm, beet & cane sugars can be
enjoyed with gusto .all sweets should be eaten in extreme moderation.more
important than sweets,spicy,oily,overcooked,fried foods should
be avoided or minimsed.i myself love spicy food but balance it
with daily fruits, some sweets along with undereating & cold showers.i
also massage myself head to toe daily in the morning with coconut
oil. finally, pitta is frequently out of balance so he/she usually
must seek to control the "agni" i.e. "fire"
that is pitta. we are often attracted to that which overstimulates
AND controls our imbalances.hence the cravings for spicy food(feeds
the agni) & the same for sweets(dampens the fire...best of luck....
